itsapear asked: I've been writing for a few years, but had never gotten past a few thousand words. I remember seeing your post about writing BLACK HEART and recording each day. Looking at it, I got inspired to keep going with my own and I would just do about 500 at least a day like you, looking at that post all the time to reboot. Now I am finished with the first draft at 65K. Rewriting and making it pretty...

How I wrote DOLL BONES
I was planning on doing a word count post for BLACK HEART, forgetting that I’d already done one!  So, if you’d like to look back at the “How I Wrote” post for BLACK HEART, it’s here. Oh well. meindquakes asked: Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, but did you write a story that included a female character who cut their throat and rubbed ash into it to show loyalty or something? My memory is not serving me well at the moment, my wording is off- but if that was you, would you kindly tell me what this was called? This rubbing-of-ash-into-a-neck-wound business, I mean.
